Punggonl End 31-05-2006

Mi bro jio mi go nitex fishing at punggonl end...
cos he next morning no work....
i tempted to go...
so i pon school the next morning...
furthermore, no FYP oso...
so decided to go...
leave hse at 1030pm...

Reach punggonl end at 1130....
Jetty alot of ppl...
Went over to the usual spot...
no ppl.. so quiet...
Seriously... quite scary lehz..
lolx... picked firwood and charcoals..
to start a fire...
thn set up the equipment...
High tides... not bad...
mi bro set up the crab traps...
thn he injure his fingers twice by the dead catfish!!!
cos thy r the baits for the crabs...
lolx... the fins of the catfish pierce inside his finger!!
damm deep!!! bleed non-stop sia!!!

later he sae go back to jetty... got light... fishes will come...
okie lor... pack up.. go jetty....
thn set up again...

alot of ppl... catching sotong...
i was thinking.. sure anot... some more veri shallow oso...
but reali.. thy did kana lor...
big lehz!!!!
the whole jetty full of black ink!!!
the other ppl fishing happening lehz...
kana 2 stingray, toadfish and catfishes...

later the stingray gif birth...
but too bad not mature...
thn die le...

mi bro caught a toad fish...
taico...
sae so heavy...

in the morning.. so damm low tides...
can even see the sea bed and crabs!!!
mi bro saw a few big crab...
mi bro throw the trap and i use the weight to hit the crab...
hoping to move it into the trap..
thn mi bro will put the trap...
it work lor...
kana quite alot...
had fun actually...
later no more crabs..

decided to go back the punggonl end to see how...
haiz!!!!
shldnt have gone back...
cos mi bro... nv slp... brain not wake up...
he throw the crab trap... thn the line drop in oso!!!
.......... win le!!!!
thn later i use the tamban jig.... managed to put it up again...
i caught 2 small grunter using the tamban jig...

Now...
the crab trap kana stuck in the sea bed... cos throw too near the side of the wall!!!
thn no choose!! cut line!!!
lost form...

decided to go home slp...

In Conclusion
Bad fishing trip wif mi bro!!!

Labrador Park 26-05-2006
Overnight Fishing

People : Kelvin, Melvin, Daryl

It was a friday nitex
Meet at 1030 at HarbourFront to get some food stuffs
Waited ages for the cabs to come
about 40mins before the cab comes
wanted to book a cab...
but toks onli lor...

Finally reach Labrador Jetty....
High tides... Good....
Find a good spot thn settle down...
set up our fishing gear...
Melvin keep saying " My big Stingray coming liao... calling mi name le.."
wad the hack....
i took out mi sotong jigs...
to try mi luck....
but no luck...
at the other end... people are catching sotong using net and presure lamp...

thy catch quite some and mainly use as baits....
for us... rather quiet the whole nitex....
Came up wif a game...
see who can catch the first fish...
thn all gif him 1 buck
lolx...

Stupid kelvin... Knn a puffer fish lor...
Plus he bought 2 parcket sarong worms!!!
both packet of worm are DEAD!!!
so damm smelly when i squeeze out lor!!!
Worse... the smell lingers at mi fingers!

later on...
i kana the same old sea slug again!!

Low tides at 4am...
took a nap and wake up at 7pm...
Happening liao!!!
all shouting tambans come liao!!!

wake everyone up...
TAMBAN time!!!
lolx...
quickly change to tamban jigs and throw dowm... kana alot...
thn we decided to targets those todaks again!!
Bloody hell... so clever...
smell le... swim away....

i piss off... went for tamban jigging...
i found a good spot...
keep kana full hse!!!
plus big size lor...
thn the whole floor full of mi tamban jumping...
lolx....

play till 11pm....
start to quiet dowm le....
thn kelvin continue to catch big fish again...
put prawns and cast...
not bad la...
no big fish...
but alot of puffer fish...
4 or 5 like tat...

i continue to jig for tambans...
sick of it le...
see a uncle use tamban jig put some shrimps...
follow him n use prawns meat...

hmmm... not bad lehz...
award wif a tripod fish!!!
and thn a yellow strips...
so nice lor....

Continue using prawn meat...
got addicted...
Daryl join in put a some prawns meat and jigs for fishes...
alot of glass fish as usual...
thn later i kana some nicer marine fishes..
purple damsel marine fish....
so nice and beautiful!!!!

kel and mel was dere cutting bottle to fill wif water for those fishes...
we oso kana some leather jacket!!!!
wow...interesting...

time passes veri fast at tat moment...
i think we caught all the fishes below the jetty lor...
later no bites at all le!!!!

kel kana 2 leather jacket from the same spot!!!
plus lost 2 tamban jig at the same place!!

around 5pm... we pack up....
release all the beautiful fishes!!!
if i got marine tank at home!!!
sure bring home to rear de!!!
reali so nice lor!!!!

Conclusion...
No big catches...
No stingray...

but.... we reali enjoy catching small beautiful fishes..
we will be back...wif air pump... lolx...
to bring home these beautiful fishes!!

Offshore Fishing Trip 20-05-2006

Hoho....
Mi first offshore fishing of mi life!!!!!!!!
The nitex before was dreaming about big big stingray and grouper!!!!
couldnt reali slp..... too excited liao!!!!

Luckily the organiser is good...
ride mi in the punggonl marnia...
if not have to take cab in...
he was riding a honda club....
not bad... riding a bike without a helmet!!!
cool rite... haha...

Okie... more about the fishing trip....
guess i was the youngest....
but thy are friendly ppl....

btw the organiser is call freddie...

when i step onto the boat...

i saw rods!!

not more than 6ft i guess!!!

i told freddie...

ehz.... mi rod ahz... 10ft lehz...

can or not ahz????

he stared at mi....

hmmm...

can la...

so unconvincing sia!!!

buy 2kg sia!!!!!

went to the first spot....

reclaim land i guess....

quite a shallow spot.....

but a good grouper spots....

later on...

started to bring up fish le...

i counted lucky...

kana 1 Mangrove Jack on the rod...

later i try to use handline to see can catch anything ma...

so use a dead prawn and throw down,....

after a while i pull back....

felt something pulling....

lolx...

again... another Mangrove Jack....

so lucky....

Beginner luck!!!

a baby stingray...

but was released back....

after which... i was silent...

change spot...

kana 1 gelama...

wad the hell...

live prawn so big....

yet the gelama mouth so small can eat....

around 1pm....

i still no catch.....

but the other manage to land a big chermin!!!!

first time saw a chermin being landed!!!

awesome!!!!

was waiting for mi turn...

but.......

The catch rate now was very very slow....

1 hr 1 chermin...

around 4pm....

left for ubin...

to catch gelama...

lolx...

being first time...

dunno about how things work...

so jus keep quiet...

Later on... mi BC skills was good...

managed to cast quite a distance...

thn freddie say....

not bad ahz....

can cast quite far liao...

haha....

Reach ubin...

change to small small hook...

to target for gelama...

i felt bitting.... but nv kana...

got 1 guy damm good...

keep kana the gelama...

around 20 in half hrs sia...

SALUTE

around 7pm head back....

In conclusion....

Fun...

Learn something... BC skill

Gain experience on boat trips...

Pulau Ubin 11-05-2006

Pple : Kelvin, Brandon, Kelvin's Bro : Melvin
Went down to beach road to power up our gear...
As kel broke his rod at mi chalet...
He decided to get a new rod...
So in the end...

Kel got a 10ft L&F rod
Brandon got a 9ft L&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;F rod
Melvin got a 10ft L&F rod

All the rod look the same as mine!!!!
Even their fishing oso the same except brandon...
Total spent : more than 250bucks...

I got hooks, bells, light sticks and stuffs...

Later went to look for a tents and icebox...
Found a shop with alot of icebox...

Singaporean are singaporean!!!
Given 2 similar objects of the same price but different in size...
Which 1 will u take??
the bigger 1???

Tat right!!!
All of them choose the damm big icebox...
i keep saying tat the smaller is better and convenient!!!!
but kel keep saying can keep alot of fish!!!!

Pls... if he can fill the smaller icebox with fish!!!
I Salute him liao!!!
End up getting the big icebox!!!

Later went down to beach road to look for tents...
Found 1 that cos 45buck. 4 men tent...
wanted to get a 2 men tent.. but kel insists getting 4 men...
Fine!!!!

So took mrt down to bedok...
to get drinks, food, ice, baits...
After which.. took cab to changi village!!!

Took the bum boat to UBIN!!!!

Finally reach dere!!!
at 3pm!!!!!!
sunset liao lor!!!

Look for van driver to our DREAM spot!!!!!

When reach!!!
disappointed is all i can say....
Fence is all we see surrounding the shoreline!!!!

Nvm...
still decided to camp dere....
went in deeper inside!!!
all aim for a good spot!!
thn 'chop' with rod stand!!!
damm typical sia!!!

First to caught something!!!
Brandon!!!!
A puffer fish!!!
So ugly!!!

Later on... kel oso keep kana!!
mi nv sia!!!!
wad the... waiting n waiting....
still not mi turn....
sun set le... dark le... still no catch!!!
sianz....

Set up fireplace... thn suddenly mi bell "ring" a few time...
haha... finally mi turn sia!!!
bring up... a small catfish...

whole nitex keep kana catfish...
smaller than the pasir ris beach lor!!!

ya... kel did a veri stupid thing sia!!
around 1am...
it started to dizzle...
thn he sae.. if raining heavy...
he will strip and bath...
cos brandon got bring bathing stuffs...

later... dunno y....
he jus strip.... thn walk around....
wad the hell sia!!!
siao sia...

around 4am...
damm low tide le...
cannot fish le...
go slp...

Around 9am wake up....
i went to explore around...
to look for a good spot to fish...
found a swampy area....
seem not bad...
decided to go try...
saw some half beaks swimming...

Went back...
get tamban hooks and prawns...
cast... and kana...
lolx...
the stupid glass fish... come steal mi bait...
in the end... hook up 2 half beaks and 2 glass fish...

in the late morning...
alot of ppl sia...
worse... ppl playing station game at our shelther!!!
sianz...

so noisy...
thn we decided to walk out to the jetty!!!!!!!
cos thy dun wanan stay here and wait for the van to come...
so decided to walk out!!!

walk for around 45mins!!
so heavy... carry the damm big icebox!!!
i was like cursing and swearing at those ppl tat wanted to buy this icebox!!!

Finally reach jetty...
decided to have dinner dere...
reason: Raining plus the queue at the jetty!!!
the queue is like from the boat to the start of the jetty!!!
can u imagine how long it is????

Had a filling dinner!!!!
is good...
later still order a pot of tea to drink....

lolx....
as no more crowd... we decided to leave UBIN!!!

In conclusion
Not we lousy... is the spot not good...
i believe tat there are better spots around....
we will be back!!!!

Punggonl End 02-05-2006

Mi 2nd bro off from work....
He wanted to do some crabbing and light fishing...
So he went down by himself as i was having school...
Decided to meet him later at punggonl end...

Reach Punggonl MRT...
Raining... Sianz...
But still went down to look for him....
Tot he got nothing....
Surprisingly... he got a small grunter...
Sorri.. no pics...

Later... started to do some intensive crabbing...
a while later... kana another small grunter...
now i noe y he kana the small grunter...
cos cast veri near...
10ft rod... cast so near!!!
nv make use of the 10ft rod sia....
show him how to cast far far!!!
but he still dunno...
need practise!!!

Around 6pm... we left...

Flower Crabs : Countless

1 Catfish
